With the holiday season swiftly approaching, many Jackson State students are excited to shop in the midst of several sales.
“I love when Thanksgiving rolls around, because I know the Black Friday sales are going to be awesome. They get better and better every year,” says Jamessa Davis, a junior social work major from West Point, Miss.
In addition to just thinking about the sales, these students are also taking note of the major retail chains, their commercials, and the advertisements that are expected to draw in customers.
Junior, Health Care Administration major Kamron Calvert added her thoughts about the upcoming sales.
“I always look forward to going to Belk, and I was ecstatic when I saw a commercial saying that their sales would start earlier than usual.”
According to Forbes, Black Friday is the biggest retail-shopping day of the year.
Large franchises such as Walmart, Best Buy, Macy’s and Belk often compete for customers, moving up the times of sales, and offering a series of discounts and coupons. Even online markets, such as Amazon provide an array of different offers to gain the business of many shoppers.
This year, Black Friday takes place on Friday, Nov. 25, 2016.
